Color Palette Terms

Analogous
- Colors next to each other on the color wheel (adjacent primary and tertiary or primary, secondary, and tertiary would be analgous color palettes)

 

Complementary - Two colors of maximum contrast that are opposites on the color wheel.

 

 

Monochrome - One color plus tints (increased percentage of white).

 

Triadic - Three color palette made up of primary colors or secondary colors.

 

 

Tint - Color mixed with white

Shade - Color mixed with black (for this project try to avoid using shades)
